28 Weeks - Belly Picture

Monday, September 29, 2008

I skipped over 24 weeks, oops - so on to the 28 week picture.  I swear this shirt makes me look much smaller than I am - or at least how I feel.  Everything seems to be going along great with the baby as he thumps away in there.  Wish I could say the same with my sciatic nerve on the left side - OUCH!!

Driskill Hotel Visit

Mum and Dad took a break from Extended Stay Hotel, and moved on up to the posh Driskill Hotel for a romantic weekend.  John and I of course have a fondness for this hotel as it's where we spent our wedding night, where I stayed the day before we got married and where many of our wedding guests stayed.  Mum and Dad had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking 6th street, so John, Kyla and I came by one night for a visit.

More Work for Papa

Saturday, September 27, 2008

As if trimming our tree wasn't enough, we put John's dad to work again - this time painting the garage (actually he insisted on it!).  It was never painted by the builders, so he gave it a nice fresh coat of white paint.  Great Work!

Piano with Daddy

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Although we don't often have a chance to hear John in concert with all the craziness of a typical day, we got a special performance while his parents were in town from Scotland.  Kyla LOVES to hear her daddy play and was all about sitting with him and playing a little bit herself.  She's actually pretty good - and by the look on her face you can see she's enjoying the show!

Chalk Art

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

We took our art adventures outside last evening for some chalk fun.  Kyla is just starting to get into "drawing" and made some lovely lines and dots.  She especially liked to see what I was drawing and sit right in the middle!  Notice how she has 2-3 pieces of chalk in her hands at all times.  Funny girl!

Playing with Sophie

Wasn't able to get too many pictures, but the girls were great playing with the crayons and paper.  Notice how neither would let go of their sippy cups!

Big Girl Table

Friday, September 5, 2008

I've been pretty crafty if I do say so myself.  I bought a $25 unfinished kids table from Ikea - painted it and topped the table and chairs with a pretty oilcloth.  At least now it looks like it cost $26!

Kyla adores it and wants to have all her meals there now.
