Happy Thanksgiving!

Our One Picture

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We usually spend the holiday in Florida with my family, but this year with baby coming we were not able to travel.  So instead we had a relaxing day at home just the three of us.  Kyla enjoyed watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and seeing all the balloons.  Then it was on to hours of football and laying on the couch, in between cooking the dinner.

John and I divided most of the work and it turned out really well.  We got one picture of the day with John carving the turkey and Kyla already diving into the food.  Poor baby is sick with double ear infections, so she was not happy to have her picture taken (hence the side view).

We have so much to be thankful for this year and so much to look forward to in the coming months.  We wanted to say how much we love our family and friends and we wish you all a very happy holiday season!

So Big

When did our little girl get so big?  She loves to climb up in the big rocking chair and "read" her books.  She also has two "kid-size" chairs in her room that she likes to read in too, which is so damn cute.

Chalk Life

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I was looking out Kyla's window a few days ago and realized our chalk art literally covers the entire driveway, and is pretty cool looking (if I do say so myself).  Chalk is one of Ky's favorite activities to do - EVERY DAY!  She points to the bag of chalk and says something to the affect of "talk."  Then mummy has to draw and draw and draw (Kyla knows the sign for "more" and uses all the time) while Kyla "helps" me by adding pretty lines to everything.  She especially enjoyed the "family" drawing in the upper right corner - notice the four people (counting baby on the way) and the 3 animals on the end.  :)

34 Week Ultrasound (A Little Late)

Face Forward (head is on the left)
Face Forward Again With Arms Up By His Mouth

Almost 2 weeks ago, we had our 34 week ultrasound and OB appointment.  Baby Scott #2 was squirming around so it was hard to get a good picture of him, especially as his hands are up by his face like a boxer (to which my bladder can attest).  He's in the head down position and ready to go.  From the measurements he's about 5lbs and he seems to be long-legged like his daddy.   Mum is doing fine was well and very healthy with weight, blood pressure, etc.  My only complaints are sciatica and neck pain, but taking care of myself.

We are fast and furiously trying to get ready for our new arrival.  We still have to finish the room, but hopefully that will be done in the next couple of weeks.

All I Want For Christmas...

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Kyla is already picking out her Christmas gifts!  She found this Target toy catalog the other day, plopped herself in the corner and flipped through it for about 15 minutes!!  Gave me quite a laugh and I was lucky to get a few secret shots.

Grandpa's Visit

Saturday, November 8, 2008

Grandpa Jackson came through town for a few days on his way to and from hunting in Luckenbach, Texas.  Of course he soon became her favorite person - playing peek-a-boo, crying when ever he left the room and wanting lots of cuddles!

Austin Celtic Festival

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

We took Kyla to the annual Austin Celtic Festival this past weekend and the whole family had a great time.  We absolutely LOVE going each year, but it was especially fun watching Kyla enjoy the music, dancing, dogs, ponies, sheep and food!
