Dylan James Scott

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Our sweet little boy, Dylan James arrived Saturday morning!  Here are his stats:

Born 12/27 at 11:01am
8lbs 0oz
20-3/4 inches long

He arrived 3 days late via VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and everything went beautifully - just an amazing experience!  I was most likely in early labor all day Friday, 12/26, but contractions really started while we were out to dinner with John, Kyla, my dad, my brother John, my sister-in-law Kathy and my nephew and niece Aaron and Emily.  Luckily they were not too painful and I was able to enjoy my dinner at Waterloo.  Afterwards, we went outside to the Christmas light-show and music.  I danced for about 45 minutes with Kyla, Aaron and Emily before needing to leave as the contractions were 2-4 minutes apart.  We got home called the doctor and went to the hospital at around 8-9pm.  I was in labor for about 17 hours total (from the 6pm start at dinner) and thankfully had an epidural for almost all of it.

We are so in love with our son and can't wait for him to meet all our family and friends.  Here are a few pictures of our little guy.

Merry Christmas 2008!

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Merry Christmas!  We had a wonderful Christmas day, made more special as my dad is visiting to help out with Kyla if Baby Scott #2 ever decides to make an appearance.  It was so much fun watching Kyla start to understand Santa and gift giving and opening presents.  She was beyond thrilled with her tent (as were the cats) and enjoyed everything else too, especially the baby dolls and baby accessories.  She's been a very good little mommy, although sometimes the babies get carried by their hair and flung inside the tent.  :)

We hope our friends and family had a lovely Christmas and we wish you all much happiness.  We are so very grateful for our blessings and the many joys we have in our lives.

The Cabela's Experience

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

The family took a little trip to Cabela's the other day and what an experience!  For those who don't know it, it's a huge store hunting/fishing/outdoor store just south of Austin.  A Texas tourist destination, if you will - although the locals love it too.  I'd never been there been there before and honestly you could spend a few hours just touring around looking at all the "wildlife" displays - they even have a huge aquarium tunnel.  Kyla had a blast looking at all the animals and we actually had to fight through the adults oohing and ahhing to get to some of the displays.  Enjoy the pictures John took on my iPhone, while I stood in the long Christmas check out lines to buy some gummy worms, we had to have. :)

Here's the last one!

We're Lit!

Actually, we've had our decorations up for a couple of weeks but this is the first opportunity we've had to take pictures.  I LOVE Christmas and enjoy the tree and lights so much - Kyla loves them too although she wishes we had some reindeer or snowmen in our front lawn like many of the neighbors do!
