Nobu won't have much to do with me, but I found this doggie (or wolf) in my room and it's almost as good. Of course, once Nobu saw my new friend, he was a bit jealous.

It's finally gotten cold in Austin (sort of), but for the last few weeks it's been sunny and mild. Kyla and Nobu both enjoyed the weather and Ky liked showing off her new hat.
Big Bathtub
We've had to move Kyla to the big bathtub because she keeps trying to crawl out of the baby tub. And when she wants something, this little girl can be STUBBURN! She's such a good girl in the big tub and gets so excited to see all of her toys in the tub!
Such a Big Girl In My Highchair
Miss Kyla loves to sit in her highchair and eat her meals. She especially loves eating O's - which are gluten-free Cheerios. Mostly they end up all over her or on the floor. Luckily, we have Nobu who cleans up the scraps.
Our Christmas Tree is Up

We put up or Christmas tree a few weeks ago (with some help from Lumpy) and lots of lights outside too. As most people know Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love all the old holiday traditions we had as kids, and creating some new ones over the years. This year is especially bright because of Kyla. We put up our tree with loving care and a night spent as a family (including champagne and yummies, of course). I love hanging my mom's ornaments she made in college on our tree and thinking of all the Christmases she made so special.

Kyla's not "crawling" yet, but she is mobile. John took this video from his phone this morning. Kyla moved about 5 feet in an effort to get to the dog (you can see him move in the right hand corner). Poor Nobu, life as he knew it is about to change radically. And ours too!!

Kyla is a real ham these days and she LOVES the camera! Everytime I see this video it cracks me up. Hope it gives you a laugh as well.
Big Bea and Little Bea
Boy has Kyla grown! For comparison, here are two pictures of Grandma holding Kyla at 1 week and now at almost 7 months.
On a related note:
As most people know, Kyla is named after her Great-Grandma Katherine Beatrice, not just because she's family, but because she is a role model. I don't even know where to start to tell you about this amazing woman. She's strong, smart, dedicated, loving, out-going, passionate and so much more. She met her husband at a dance, but didn't chase after him - she let him chase her. She graduated from college and worked as a teacher. Raised a family, then went back to work becoming a vice-president and retiring at the young age of 86! She even got her ears peirced in her 70's. Grandma once told me that it was never too late to learn anything - and you should always go for it - and she's lived her life that way. Who wouldn't admire a woman like that!?
For all these reasons and many more, I'm so proud for Kyla to carry the same middle name as her Great-Grandmother. If you are reading this Grandma - we love you!!
